Job summary

ColonialWebb in Richmond, VA seeks a Manufacturing Supervisor - Sheet Metal to lead a dedicated crew, optimize production flow, and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor. You will oversee fabrication, ensure processes meet customer requirements, and mentor staff for growth.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in sheet metal fabrication, manufacturing, or mechanical operations.
Strong understanding of sheet metal processes including cutting, forming, assembly, and installation readiness.
Knowledge of shop equipment such as press brakes, shears, plasma cutters, and CNC machinery.
Working knowledge of Lean principles including 5S and continuous improvement practices.
Strong mechanical aptitude with analytical and administrative skills.
Experience managing manpower allocation and production productivity.
Proficiency with modern technology including laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and shop safety standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations and sheet metal fabrication activities.
Plan and manage workflows, production schedules, and operational goals while maintaining efficiency and minimizing downtime.
Monitor team performance and resolve operational challenges to meet productivity and deadlines.
Maintain high product quality through inspections of fabricated components and process monitoring.
Promote Lean initiatives such as 5S and Kaizen and standardized work.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance fabrication efficiency and reduce waste.
Manage workforce productivity and equipment utilization (e.g., brakes, shears, plasma tables, roll formers).
Oversee inventory processes including raw sheet metal materials, receiving, storage, and tracking.
Ensure availability of tools, materials, and consumables to support fabrication and warehouse operations.
Enforce safety policies and OSHA regulations; promote safe operation of equipment; conduct safety meetings.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to support employee growth.
Maintain strong communication with leadership, project managers, and internal teams.
