Job summary

This position is located at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System, Facilities Management Service, and focuses on constructing, installing and repairing HVAC systems and related structures across the medical center.

Major duties include designing and building highly irregular ductwork, reading blueprints, and using advanced shop mathematics for precise cuts and layouts. Work is Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm under a federal pay scale.

Responsibilities

• Performs the most complex sheet metal work such as designing, constructing and installing unconventional ductwork curves and transitions.
• Reads blueprints and performs takeoffs for material ordering and duct sizing.
• Uses various hand and power tools to shape and assemble sheet metal systems and to repair or replace components.
