Job summary

Construction Job Force is seeking a Sheet Metal HVAC Mechanic for hospital construction environments, focusing on precise duct installation and blueprint interpretation. You will run ductwork, install hangers, and coordinate with other trades on active hospital sites.

The role requires experience with duct layouts, spiral duct, and various duct types, plus adherence to safety protocols on healthcare construction projects. This is an onsite, contract-to-hire opportunity in Fort Liberty, NC.

Qualifications

Experience installing sheet metal ductwork in hospital or healthcare settings.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project drawings for HVAC installations.
Experience with spiral duct and various duct types as per project design.
Comfort working on construction sites with safety protocols and hospital requirements.

Responsibilities

Install and run all sheet metal ductwork in a hospital setting during new construction and rehabilitation or uplift projects.
Perform sheet metal installations including offsets, 90-degree bends, and 45-degree bends to meet project specifications.
Complete independent duct runs from start to finish, ensuring accurate measurements, alignment, and secure connections.
Install hangers and support systems for ductwork to ensure structural integrity and compliance with applicable standards.
Read and interpret blueprints and project drawings to plan and execute duct layouts and installations.
Work with spiral duct and other duct types as required by the project design.
Use appropriate hand and power tools safely and effectively to cut, shape, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork.
Collaborate with other trades and team members on-site to coordinate installation activities in an active or partially active hospital environment.
Inspect completed duct installations for quality, fit, and function, making adjustments as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following site safety protocols and hospital-specific requirements.
