Job summary

KingRecruitingServices is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer focused on sheet metal fabrication for our client in the Midwest. You will develop and optimize fabrication processes, design tooling, and drive lean improvements to enhance throughput and quality in agricultural equipment production.

You will collaborate with product engineering on DFM, program CNC cutters, and lead capacity analyses while supporting capital equipment projects and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• BS in Agricultural, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years’ experience with sheet metal fabrication including profiling and bending equipment.
• Good 3D CAD skills, preferably Creo.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize fabrication processes for structural steel and sheet metal components used in agricultural equipment.
• Design and improve jigs, fixtures, and tooling for plasma/laser cutting, bending, forming, and welding.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean tools to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework in fabrication operations.
• Collaborate with product engineering on design for manufacturability for fabricated parts.
• Program or support programming of CNC plasma/laser cutters, press brakes, and robotic welding cells.
• Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and workflow assessments to support production planning and equipment utilization.
• Support the implementation of capital equipment projects, including machine selection, layout, and installation.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions related to fabrication quality or equipment issues.
