Job summary

Vogrinc Search Group client, a long-established Midwest manufacturer of agricultural equipment, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer focused on sheet metal fabrication to optimize cutting, forming, and welding processes for robust equipment.

You will collaborate with design and production teams, run time studies, support CNC programming for plasma/laser cutters, brakes, and welding cells, and drive lean improvements in throughput and quality.

Qualifications

• BS in Agricultural, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years’ experience with sheet metal fabrication including profiling and bending equipment (lasers, brake presses, shears and saws).
• Good 3D CAD skills, preferably Creo.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize fabrication processes for sheet metal components used in agricultural equipment.
• Design and improve jigs, fixtures, and tooling for cutting, forming, and welding to ensure repeatability and safety.
• Drive lean improvements to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework in fabrication operations.
• Collaborate with product engineering on design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Program or support CNC plasma/laser cutters, press brakes, and repeatable parts for robotic welding cells.
• Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and workflow assessments to support production planning.
• Support capital equipment projects including machine selection, layout, and installation.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for fabrication quality.
