Job summary

Barrette Workforce Solutions, LLC is sourcing a Manufacturing Engineer focused on sheet metal fabrication for agricultural equipment. You will develop and optimize fabrication processes, design tooling, and drive lean improvements to boost throughput and quality.

The role requires collaboration with product engineering on DFM and hands-on work with CNC plasma/laser cutters and robotic welding cells. On-site role in Wisconsin with a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• BS in Agricultural, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years’ experience with sheet metal fabrication including profiling and bending equipment (lasers, brake presses, shears and saws).
• Good 3D CAD skills, preferably Creo.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize fabrication processes for structural steel and sheet metal components used in agricultural equipment.
• Design and improve jigs, fixtures, and tooling to ensure consistency, repeatability, and ergonomic safety in plasma/laser cutting, bending, forming, and welding.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean tools to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework in fabrication operations.
• Collaborate with product engineering on design for manufacturability (DFM), particularly for fabricated parts.
• Program or support programming of CNC plasma/laser cutters, press brakes, and repeatable parts for robotic welding cells.
• Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and workflow assessments to support production planning and equipment utilization.
• Support the implementation of capital equipment projects, including machine selection, layout, and installation.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions related to fabrication quality or equipment issues.
