Job summary

Responsibilities include operating brake presses, lasers, punch presses, and related equipment, reading blueprints, measuring parts, and ensuring parts meet specifications with a strong safety mindset. Training provided for tool maintenance and quality control.

Qualifications

• Experience operating sheet metal machinery and reading blueprints.
• Ability to read rulers and measuring devices precisely.
• Team oriented with safety-conscious approach.

Responsibilities

• Operate all equipment in the sheet metal department, including brake presses, lasers, punch presses, sanders, and deburring machines
• Fill all part requirements to complete rounds for the kitting department
• Read rulers, tape measurers, metal squares, angle finders, protractors, and other measuring instruments
• Read and follow written and verbal instructions
• Read and interpret blueprints and work orders
• Perform appropriate preventative maintenance on equipment and tooling
• Examine finished work pieces for smoothness, shape, angle, or conformity to specifications and verify dimensions, visually and using hands, rulers, calipers, templates, or gauges
• Start machines, adjust controls, and make trial cuts to ensure that machinery is operating properly
• Monitor operations of machines and make adjustments to correct problems and ensure conformance to specifications
• Work at different workstations as production needs require
• Maintain the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
• Use proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation on individual’s product line or work cell
• Perform other duties as assigned
