Job summary

Atlantic Constructors, Inc. is seeking a Sheet Metal Helper - Shop Fabrication in Richmond, VA. This role supports mechanics with fabrication, assembly, and installation of sheet metal ductwork and related components in the shop.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months of sheet metal shop experience, familiarity with hand tools, and the ability to work a varied schedule and travel to sites as needed. Benefits are provided, with emphasis on employee coverage and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months' sheet metal shop fabrication experience or equivalent training.
• Knowledge of trade related hand tools.
• Ability to multi-task and follow written/oral instructions with attention to detail.
• Willingness to report to multiple job sites and work varied hours including evenings or weekends.
• HS diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Sets up tools and equipment.
• Loads and unloads construction materials to/from shop fabrication area.
• Keeps work area clean and restocks supplies.
• Makes subassemblies and hangers as directed by mechanic.
• Assists in lifting, positioning, and securing materials during installation.
• Maintains safety and housekeeping in the fabrication shop.
• Develops technical skills through internal training or apprenticeship.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
