Job summary

Superior Roof Metals is seeking a machine operator at our San Jose, CA facility to operate presses, shears and roll formers, set up equipment, and monitor production for quality and efficiency.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), basic machines experience, and strong mechanical aptitude. We offer non-exempt employment, $18–$25 per hour, and benefits including 401(k), health insurance, PTO and holidays.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production orders.
• Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate presses, shears, and roll formers.
• Set up equipment for production runs and adjust for optimal performance.
• Monitor machine operations to meet quality and quantity targets.
• Perform quality checks on finished products.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting to prevent downtime.
• Follow safety guidelines and use PPE.
• Maintain production records (materials used, machine performance).
• Assist with receiving, inspecting and organizing materials.
• Collaborate with team and supervisors to ensure efficient processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for safety, quality, and productivity.
