LECO, located in St. Joseph, Michigan, is seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator II to perform a range of shop duties in fabrication of sheet metal parts for production and prototypes. The role includes interpreting engineering drawings, operating CNC equipment, and maintaining quality standards.

The job requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of fabricating experience is preferred. Overtime is possible as needed, with a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy in a family-owned

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 4+ years of fabricating experience preferred.
• Read engineering drawings, routers, and precision measuring tools.
• Experience with CNC punching, laser cutting, and brake forming is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• React to out-of-control conditions per LECO Quality Management Plan.
• Prevent product non-conformity by taking corrective actions.
• Provide solutions through designated channels.
• Identify and record any product quality problems.
• Verify the implementation of solutions.
• Control non-conforming product until deficiencies are corrected.
• Inspect parts manufactured and perform related data entry.

Schedule

1 st Shift, 5:00am – 1:30pm, Monday – Friday, Overtime will be scheduled as needed.

Position Summary

The Sheet Metal Fabricator-II is responsible for a variety of shop related duties involving the fabrication of sheet metal parts used in production, prototype, and other sheet metal assemblies. This position includes a 15% premium for 2 nd shift employees plus a retention bonus for 2 nd shift new hires.

Position Responsibilities

• React to out-of-control conditions specified in the LECO Quality Management Plan
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of product non-conformity
• Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels
• Identify and record any product quality problems
• Verify the implementation of solutions
• Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
• Inspect parts that they manufacture and perform the related data entry

Position Requirements

• People in the Sheet Metal Fabrication-I job classification must be able to read engineering drawings, routers, and precision measuring tools
• Own or be willing to purchase all necessary tools of the trade
• Perform manufacturing processes involving any or all the following:
• Material Shearing/Handling
• CNC Turret Punch
• CNC Laser
• CNC Press Brake
• Fastener Insertion
• Spot Welding
• MIG/TIG Welding
• Machine Maintenance
• Miscellaneous Shop Duties

Education/Certifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent. 4+ years of fabricating experience is preferred
