Job summary

LECO in St. Joseph, Michigan, is seeking a Machinist 1-2 for the 2nd shift (3:15pm–3:45am, Mon-Wed, 3:15pm–7:15pm Thu) with a 15% premium and retention bonus for new hires.

The role involves a variety of shop duties, including machining and non-machining tasks, and requires reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring tools. You will inspect parts, ensure quality per LECO standards, and perform setup and operation on CNC machines and conventional equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read engineering drawings, routers, and precision measuring tools.
• Own or be willing to purchase all necessary tools of the trade.
• Experience with machining processes and quality control per LECO standards.

Responsibilities

• React to out-of-control conditions specified in the LECO Quality Management Plan.
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of product non-conformity.
• Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
• Identify and record any product quality problems.
• Verify the implementation of solutions.
• Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming product until corrected.
• Inspect parts that they manufacture and perform the related data entry.

Schedule

MI - 2 nd Shift, 3:15pm - 3:45am, Monday - Wednesday, 3:15pm - 7:15pm, Thursday and Overtime will be scheduled as needed

Position Summary

The Machinist 1-2 is responsible for a variety of shop related duties involving both machining and non-machining job functions. This position includes a 15% premium for 2 nd shift employees plus a retention bonus for 2 nd shift new hires.

Position Responsibilities

• React to out-of-control conditions specified in the LECO Quality Management Plan
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of product non-conformity
• Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels
• Identify and record any product quality problems
• Verify the implementation of solutions
• Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
• Inspect parts that they manufacture and perform the related data entry
