Job summary

Structured Trades in Texas is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabrication Shop Mechanic to join our commercial construction team. This role focuses on fabricating, assembling, and preparing sheet metal components for commercial projects with emphasis on quality, accuracy, and safety.

You will read drawings, measure, cut, bend, drill, and operate metal fabrication tools, while coordinating with project and field teams to meet schedules and ensure proper fit and finish.

Qualifications

• Previous sheet metal fabrication or mechanical shop experience preferred.
• Ability to read measurements and shop drawings.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to lift and handle sheet metal and materials.
• Good safety awareness and PPE adherence.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components for commercial construction projects.
• Measure, cut, bend, drill, and assemble sheet metal according to drawings and specifications.
• Operate sheet metal fabrication equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely.
• Read and follow shop drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
• Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and proper fit.
• Work closely with projects and field teams to meet production schedules.
