Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, including ductwork, air handling units, VAV boxes, and fan power boxes.
• Utilize a variety of tools and techniques such as slide and drive, snap lock, and TDF.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
• Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets, using gauges, templates, and scribes.
• Convert blueprints into shop drawings to be followed in the construction or assembly of sheet metal products.
• Select gauge and type of sheet metal according to product specifications.
• Inspect assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, scales, and micrometer.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic.
• Proficiency in the use of tools and techniques such as slide and drive, snap lock, and TDF.
• Extensive experience with ductwork, air handling units, VAV boxes, and fan power boxes.
• Familiarity with commercial and industrial construction environments.

• Physical stamina and the ability to lift and manipulate large, heavy pieces of metal.
