Job summary

ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC in Wisconsin seeks a Manufacturing Engineer focused on sheet metal fabrication to develop, optimize, and sustain metal fabrication processes for agricultural equipment. You will drive improvements in throughput, quality, and tooling design, reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities include designing jigs and fixtures, programming CNC plasma/laser cutters, and collaborating on DFM with product engineering.

Qualifications

• BS in Agricultural, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of sheet metal fabrication experience with profiling and bending equipment (lasers, brakes, shears, saws).
• Proficient in 3D CAD, preferably Creo.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize fabrication processes for structural steel and sheet metal components.
• Design and improve jigs, fixtures, and tooling for plasma/laser cutting, bending, forming, and welding.
• Lead lean initiatives to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework in fabrication operations.
• Collaborate with product engineering on manufacturability of fabricated parts.
• Program or support CNC plasma/laser cutters, press brakes, and welding cells.
• Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and workflow assessments for planning.
• Support capital equipment projects including selection, layout, installation.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective actions for fabrication issues.
