Job summary

RenewAire in Dane, WI seeks a Sheet Metal Cell (SMC) Lead to guide fabrication of high-performance ERV systems for hospitals, schools, and commercial buildings. You will coach technicians, own processes, and drive safe, efficient production across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; metal fabrication classes a plus.
• 3–5 years of relevant fabrication experience on lasers, punches, panel benders and press brakes; other automated equipment considered.
• Intermediate computer skills; ability to read engineering drawings and measurements in inches/feet.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical expert and coach fabrication technicians; model safe, positive work practices.
• Serve as liaison between technicians and leadership, ensuring cohesive communication across all shifts and facilities.
• Operate fabrication equipment to high-quality standards and troubleshoot complex machinery issues; engage external support when needed.
• Lead prove-out processes and communicate results with programmers; act as an agent for open, respectful communication.
• Lead by example to ensure safe work practices and a positive work environment in Fabrication.
• Cross-train across multiple cells and facilities on multiple machines and fabrication equipment.
• Perform material handling of raw metal sheets and finished product with attention to detail.
• Develop and lead efforts to update equipment setup, tooling change, and process flow documentation.
• Coordinate with maintenance and supervisors during planned/unplanned maintenance; streamline workflows within facility and across facilities.
• Serve as backup representative for daily meetings; manage cell orders and logistics issues.
