Job summary

BAC is seeking a Sheet Metal Nesting Programmer (CAD/CAM) to convert blueprints into optimized CNC programs, maximizing yield and minimizing waste on the production floor. You will collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and efficient workflow across shifts.

You will lead by example, mentor junior programmers, and support daily priorities while aligning with BAC values of trust, responsibility, courage, and innovation.

Qualifications

• Experience in CAD/CAM programming for nesting and sheet metal products.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints with GD&T tolerances.
• Strong problem solving and mentoring skills to guide junior programmers.

Responsibilities

• Build CNC tool paths for cutting, bending, and pressing processes; set feeds, speeds, tooling, and machine parameters.
• Translate designs by reading drawings and nesting parts for maximum yield.
• Verify part quality by measuring tolerances and ensuring fit; use inspection plans.Plan to meet demand by coordinating with production on resources and material availability.
• Drive efficiency by maximizing machine utilization, reducing scrap, monitoring progress, and supporting design changes.
• Troubleshoot nesting conflicts, tool-path errors, material issues, and shop-floor bottlenecks.
