Job summary

Mercy High School is seeking a certified Mathematics teacher for the 26/27 school year. The candidate will design lesson plans, monitor student progress, and employ engaging instructional practices to foster conceptual thinking and problem solving.

The ideal applicant holds a related field degree and current Michigan teaching certification. A Master's degree and at least two years of high school teaching experience are preferred.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

• successfully collaborate with staff from other departments to help students apply course content across the curriculum.
• support lessons through effective use of technology tools (Mercy HS is an Apple Distinguished school).
• create a culturally responsive learning environment and pedagogy.

• work effectively and willingly with students of diverse backgrounds including race, culture and socio-economic status.
• have effective verbal and written communication skills in interacting with various stakeholders.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:Applicants must hold a degree in a related field of study and a current EX Michigan teaching certification. Preference will be given to applicants with a Master's Degree. A minimum of two years teaching experience at the high school level is preferred. Applicants should visibly demonstrate a willingness to expand their knowledge and skills by participating in professional development opportunities in all areas.
