Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) is seeking a Shared Financial Services Manager in Saint Paul. You will lead financial reporting, GL maintenance, billing, receivable and payable workflows, and year‑end close across state funds.
You will coordinate statutory reports, ACFR disclosures, and policy development while ensuring compliance with GAAP, GASB, and federal directives. You’ll provide executive financial analyses, prepare legislative documents, and guide internal controls and audit responses.

As the Shared Financial Services Manager, this position will lead and oversee financial reporting and financial operations, including maintenance of the general ledger, billing and accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll. This position will also coordinate the year‑end close process and new fiscal year setup, ensuring transactions, balances, budgets, and system configurations are completed accurately and on schedule.
This position will oversee the preparation of fiscal notes, legislative reports, executive financial reports, and comparable financial analyses for governing bodies and senior leadership.
This position will coordinate the preparation of financial statements, supporting schedules, and related disclosures for inclusion in the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), in accordance with Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) guidance and applicable GAAP and GASB requirements.
This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving financial policies, procedures, processes, systems, reporting tools, and internal controls to strengthen efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and accountability. This position will also support and coordinate financial and compliance audits, respond to audit requests and findings, and ensure the timely preparation of supporting documentation.
This position will ensure financial reporting and financial operations comply with federal directives, state law, GAAP, GASB standards, MMB guidance, and department policies, while promoting sound stewardship of public funds and the timely delivery of accurate fiscal information.
In addition, this position will provide leadership, technical expertise, and strategic counsel to MNIT’s Chief Financial Officer on fiscal policy, financial management, audit matters, and operational issues necessary to support the complex administrative, reporting, and programmatic requirements of statewide financial operations.
This position requires an employee to work onsite at 600 Robert St. N., Saint Paul, Minnesota at least 50% [or more or less if space limitations remain] of the time, with limited telework available.
