Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions seeks a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to deliver wound services to residents in long-term care facilities in Washington. The role requires WA NP license, board certification, and wound care expertise including diabetic, arterial, venous, and Kennedy ulcers.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of WA.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional).
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Comfort diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Staging pressure injuries according to NPIAP.
• Familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products (collagens, alginates, foams, silvers).
• Experience with wound vacs and other DME (pressure devices).
• Strong preference for wound certification or willingness to get certified.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe medications, including controlled substances per Washington law.
• Order, review, and follow up treatments and diagnostics.
• Communicate with nursing home staff about condition changes.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.
