Job summary

Sterling Utilities is seeking reliable Traffic Control Flaggers who hold or are willing to obtain the Maryland SHA Flagger Certification. This role directs traffic through active construction zones across Maryland roadways, following SHA standards and MUTCD to protect the public and crew.

Qualifications

• Must hold or obtain MDOT SHA Flagger Certification before first field assignment.
• Must be 18 years or older and have a valid Maryland driver's license.
• Ability to stand 8–12 hours in all weather conditions and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic per MDOT SHA standards and MUTCD.
• Set up, maintain, and remove TCP devices (cones, drums, barricades, arrow boards, signs).
• Operate two-way radios to coordinate with flaggers and supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with MOSH safety guidelines and SHA requirements.
• Maintain daily logs and incident documentation as required by SHA specifications.
