Job summary

Sterling Utilities in Maryland is seeking reliable Traffic Control Flaggers who hold or will obtain their MDOT SHA Flagger Certification. This role protects the public and crew by directing traffic through active construction and utility work zones across Maryland roadways.

Qualifications

• Must hold MDOT SHA Flagger Certification or be willing to obtain before first field assignment.
• Familiarity with MDOT SHA standards and MOSH safety guidelines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic in Maryland work zones per MDOT SHA and MUTCD.
• Set up and maintain TCP devices: cones, drums, barricades, arrow boards, signage.
• Coordinate with flaggers and supervisors using two-way radios.
• Complete daily logs and incident documentation per SHA specs.
• Adhere to TMP and project-specific safety plans.
