Job summary

Savage Services is seeking a Safety Supervisor to lead Safety, Health, and Environmental programs at our Detroit Handling and Transportation Operations. You will train team members, maintain compliance, and drive incident investigations to prevent recurrences.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field, SH&E experience, and willingness to travel. You will collaborate with Operations Managers and client teams to uphold the highest safety standards across ongoing projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety-related field preferred.
• 3+ years of SH&E experience in industry.
• SH&E certs (ASP/CSP) are a plus and TWIC Card is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead SH&E programs and training for Detroit handling and transportation operations.
• Develop safety training materials and deliver instructor-led courses where needed.
• Maintain SH&E and training records in the S7i system.
• Oversee onboarding and mentor assignment for new hires.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and industry-standard observations.
• Lead customer safety audits and coordinate with client safety expectations.
• Investigate incidents with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Travel up to 10% for site visits and training.
• Participate in contractor safety programs and customer safety committee.
