Job summary

Talently in San Francisco, CA is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our on-site preconstruction team. You will prepare detailed estimates for commercial electrical projects, perform Accubid takeoffs, review drawings, and develop cost proposals to win bids.

You will collaborate with general contractors, vendors, and field teams, manage multiple estimates with tight deadlines, and ensure accurate, competitive pricing from labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of commercial electrical estimating experience.
• Proficient with Accubid for electrical takeoffs and detailed estimating.
• Strong understanding of commercial electrical construction methods, materials, systems, and installation practices.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, architectural plans, and construction documents.
• Experience preparing complete electrical estimates and competitive bids.
• Strong math, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and competitive bids for commercial electrical construction projects.
• Perform electrical takeoffs and build accurate estimates using Accubid.
• Review drawings, specifications, addenda, contracts, bid documents, and scopes of work.
• Develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and other project cost estimates.
• Analyze plans to identify scope requirements, conflicts, exclusions, risks, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
• Prepare bid proposals with clear inclusions, exclusions, clarifications, and qualifications.
• Coordinate with project management and field teams to support constructability reviews and a smooth handoff to construction.
