Job summary

Electric + Communications in San Francisco seeks an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. You will review plans, prepare detailed estimates, and collaborate with Project Managers to win and manage electrical projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of electrical estimating, proficiency with Accubid or similar software, and strong math and communication skills. We value integrity, teamwork, and a commitment to quality service.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and other contract documents to understand project scope and requirements.
• Prepare detailed estimates for new construction, renovations and ongoing electrical projects.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical systems, equipment, installation methods, materials, and industry terminology.
• Utilize electrical estimating software to develop accurate and competitive estimates.
• Identify scope gaps, potential risks, value-engineering opportunities, and other factors that may affect project pricing.
• Maintain relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other industry partners.
• Communicate and collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and other operations team members.
• Participate in bid reviews and assist with transition of awarded projects from estimating to project management.
• Track bid opportunities, deadlines, and estimating documentation.
• Actively pursue and support new project opportunities.

Position Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed estimates for new construction, renovations and ongoing electrical projects.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical systems, equipment, installation methods, materials, and industry terminology
• Utilize electrical estimating software to develop accurate and competitive estimates
• Identify scope gaps, potential risks, value-engineering opportunities, and other factors that may affect project pricing.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical estimating experience
• Knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials and systems
• Experience with electrical estimating software
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
