Job summary

Crisis Services is seeking a Sexual Violence Prevention Coordinator to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of NYSDOH CMS prevention strategies across Erie County. The role requires collaboration with colleges, coalitions, and policymakers and will involve outreach, data analysis, and reporting.

The successful candidate will have a public health or related background, strong coordination skills, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, social work, sociology or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years in public health or program development.
  • Experience in community engagement or violence prevention.
  • Understanding of social determinants of health and prevention education.

Crisis Services is actively seeking to fill a critical position on our Advocate Team. We are hiring a Sexual Violence Prevention Coordinator who will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the sexual violence primary prevention strategies of the NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH) funded Communities Mobilizing for Safety (CMS) project throughout Erie County. This includes helping to build a community that aims to reduce sexual violence by engaging community members as partners to increase awareness, change social norms, and create sustainable policy and environment change across Erie County. The Sexual Violence Prevention Coordinator will conduct outreach, gather and analyze data, deliver prevention education & training, and manage program deliverables including reporting requirements and attendance at required NYSDOH meetings.Job Type:Full Time, 40 hours/weekPay:$23.50/hourSchedule:Monday through Friday with occasional nights/weekendsWork Setting:Office-based with remote capabilitiesWhat you will bring:Bachelor's degree in public health, social work, sociology, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in public health and/or program development required.Two (2) years of experience working in community engagement, sexual health, or violence prevention strongly preferred.Experience in community engagement or community organizing.Demonstrated relationship building.Demonstrated program coordinator skills.Understanding of community-level prevention and the social ecological model.Understanding of social determinants of health and the connection to violence prevention.Awareness of best practices related to sexual violence prevention education, risk reduction, and survivor support strategies.Ability to work independently, take initiative and proactively identify, prioritize, and complete tasks.Demonstrated program coordination and facilitation skillsDemonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment.A valid NYS driver’s license is required with a clean driving record and access to reliable vehicle.Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Internet required.Ready for the toughest job you’ll love coming back to?Crisis Services is a mission-driven organization that exemplifies professionalism and excellence in the delivery of crisis intervention.
