Job summary

Crisis Services is seeking a full-time Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Campus Advocate to join our Advocate Department’s Case Management and Prevention Team. You will provide crisis intervention, case management, advocacy, and follow-up services to survivors on local college campuses in collaboration with police, district attorneys, and community agencies.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a human service field or related area, with at least 6 months of relevant

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in human services, public health, social work, or education.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant work experience in domestic/sexual violence response and/or prevention.
• Experience in public speaking, community education, or training facilitation preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and stakeholders; higher education experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention, case management, advocacy, and follow-up services to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and/or stalking across local college campuses.
• Collaborate with campus police, district attorneys, and other campus-based or community-based agencies to support student and staff survivors.
• Develop and implement data-driven prevention education curricula and social media content to promote healthy norms and reduce interpersonal violence across the SEM.
• Engage with diverse populations and partners to strengthen community resources and access to services.

The Department provides comprehensive victim services to individuals who have experienced sexual assault, domestic violence, family violence and/or elder abuse. Campus Advocates provide crisis intervention, case management, advocacy, and follow-up services to a small caseload of survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and/or stalking across local college campus. They collaborate with police (campus and local), district attorneys, and other campus-based and/or community-based agencies to serve student and staff survivors. This position is also responsible for developing and implementing data-driven prevention education curricula, as well as social media content, to promote social norms and build capacity to foster a community of hopefulness, safety, and shared responsibility to prevent interpersonal violence across the Social Ecological Model (SEM).Job Type:Full-Time position availablePay:$22.04 - $25.81 per hourSchedule:Monday through FridaySome evening and/or weekend hours, as needed, and required on-call responsibilities.Work Setting:Onsite at Crisis Services, 100 River Rock Road, Suite 300, Buffalo, NYCo-location at local college campusesHybrid Remote/Onsite Schedule may be availableWhat you will bring:Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree from an accredited college and/or university in human service field, public health, social work or education.A minimum of 6 months’ relevant work experience preferably providing direct services in domestic/sexual violence response and/or prevention work.Experience in public speaking, community education, or training facilitation strongly preferred.Ability to work with and mobilize a wide variety of stakeholders and experience in higher education a plus.Experience relating to and engaging with diverse populations in a variety of settings.Valid NYS driver’s license is required with a clean driving record and access to reliable automobile.Ready for the toughest job you’ll love coming back to?Crisis Services is a mission-driven organization that exemplifies professionalism and excellence in the delivery of crisis intervention.
