Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Field Operations Technician to perform field operations on sewer and distribution systems, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. The role requires handling CCTV, acoustic surveying, jetting and vacuum equipment, and maintaining records in CMMS.

Responsibilities include inspections, preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, confined space work, and collaboration with teams to support system integrity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with the ability to read, write and comprehend English and the ability to interpret and record data.
• Prior work history in a related position with experience in a similar environment preferred, with working knowledge of the standard practices, common tools, materials, and occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
• Prior experience with industry related safety programs preferred, including but not limited to confined space, lockout tagout, fall protection, etc.

Responsibilities

• Operate sewer/storm/distribution equipment safely and efficiently, including CCTV truck, acoustic surveying, jetting and vacuum equipment, to inspect and maintain systems.
• Perform routine and emergency inspections of collection and distribution systems per programs and policies (e.g., PACP/MACP).
• Record all work activities into CMMS as required by programs and policy.
• Perform preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on equipment per vendor specifications.
• Follow safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
• Perform confined space entries as needed.
• Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, electromechanical, and hydraulic equipment.
• Repair departmental equipment including CCTV, generators, pumps and related components.
• Dismantle, repair and reassemble equipment; troubleshoot hydraulics and electronics.
• Assist with sewer inspections and other field system improvements as directed.
• May assist in other areas of the field systems as directed.
