Job summary

Johnston County in North Carolina is hiring for a Maintenance Worker to join a crew maintaining sewer lines and pumping stations.

You will inspect stations, perform preventive maintenance, operate trucks and machinery, read meters, and keep records. The role requires a high school diploma and valid NC driver's license, with CDL possible. On-site work with exposure to hazards; on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus related maintenance experience.
• Possession of Grade 1 Collection System Operator certification or ability to obtain within 18 months.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license; may require commercial driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect sewer pumping stations and storage tanks on regular tours.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on pumps and pipes.
• Read wastewater meters and record readings.
• Operate heavy equipment including front-end loaders and dump trucks.
• Mow grass and trim trees at sites; manage site access.
• Read maps and follow safety procedures.
