Job summary

City of Denton is seeking a skilled worker to maintain and construct sewer lines across the city. The role involves operating light to medium equipment, locating and repairing lines, and coordinating on-call emergencies on a rotating basis.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, at least one year in water utilities operations, and a valid Class A CDL (or ability to obtain within 60 days). Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of experience in water utilities field operations.
• Valid Class A CDL or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Ability to read and understand reference books and procedures.
• Must pass drug test, background check, and medical exam.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and construct sewer lines citywide.
• Operate light to medium equipment (dump truck, backhoe, etc.).
• Locate and repair water/sewer lines and install new lines.
• Perform equipment checks and basic maintenance.
• Work in confined spaces (manholes, trenches) and respond to after-hours emergencies.
