Job summary

Mohawk Industries, a Fortune 500 flooring leader, is seeking a production operator. You will operate sewing machines and knives, ensure correct sewing, and monitor J-box processes to maintain quality and throughput.

Responsibilities include inspecting carpet as it feeds into equipment, addressing defects, and performing housekeeping and training follow-ups as directed by supervision. This role supports manufacturing efficiency and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and steady hand for precise sewing work.
• Ability to operate sewing machines and knives safely.
• Willingness to follow SOPs and training.

Responsibilities

• Operate sewing machine and knife and ensuring that they are sewn in correctly.
• Run carpet in J-box making sure it is running in straight.
• Watch J-box to ensure carpet is entering accumulator in proper position.
• Watch for torn leader or seams and re-sew them to prevent tear outs.
• Inspect carpet as it rolls into the machine to alert supervisor of defects.
• Keep J-box and accumulator as full as possible at all times.
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating procedures
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management
