Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a Teacher AUT-Severe Level I in Special Education. The role focuses on planning and delivering instruction aligned with the AKS curriculum for students with severe/profound disabilities.

You will collaborate with staff, adapt materials, and monitor student progress to support academic and personal growth. Responsibilities include implementing IEPs, coordinating with regular educators, and providing evidence-based strategies within IDEA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from PSC approved college/university
• Knowledge of AKS curriculum and GCPS policies
• Ability to infuse technology into instruction
• Understanding of teaching/learning processes
• Familiarity with IDEIA and due process

Responsibilities

• Plan learning experiences based on the AKS curriculum
• Provide direct and/or specially designed instruction
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support students
• Develop long and short-term instructional objectives
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed
• Prepare lesson plans and organize content for delivery
• Utilize effective instructional strategies and technology
• Maintain and communicate progress to parents and staff
• Ensure safety and appropriate classroom management
• Maintain records and support IDEA-related procedures
