Job summary

Black Oak Casino Resort is seeking a Cook I/II to work on the line, ensuring food is prepared according to specifications and menu standards. You will assist with portioning, prep, and station stocking while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen.

The role requires reliable English communication, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and compliance with all policies. A ServSafe or Food Handler certification is required, plus eligibility to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must complete Food Handler or ServSafe certification or have proof of current certification.
• Ability to execute duties with minimal supervision.
• General knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and storage.
• Must communicate effectively with Supervisors and Team Members.
• Maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance and proper uniform.
• Must pass a mandatory drug test and obtain a valid gaming license.
• Provide evidence of U.S. employment eligibility and English proficiency.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY: Responsible for working on the line and ensuring that food is prepared in accordance with departmental specifications.Essential Responsibilities and Duties: (Specific areas of responsibility including, but not limited to)Under the direction of the Cook I and II ensures all functional duties associated with this job are performed according to established company and departmental policies and procedures.Ensures proper food preparation in accordance with menu specifications.Coordinates and performs daily food portioning and preparation.Maintains stock in kitchen and restocks food stations as needed.Provides courteous service to all Guests and Team Members.Performs other duties as assigned.Follows Black Oak Casino Resort and departmental policies and procedures.Knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils preferred.Mandatory Requirements:Must be at least 18 years old.Must complete Food Handler or ServSafe certification or have proof of current certification.Must possess ability to execute duties with minimal supervision.Must have general knowledge of the preparation of various food items, sanitation, and food storage.Must have the ability to communicate effectively with Supervisors and other Team Members.Must present a clean, well-groomed appearance and wear the appropriate uniform.Must possess a cooperative and friendly nature.Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.Physical Demands:Must be physically able to perform all job requirements.Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.Possible exposure to dust, gas, fumes, steam, or chemicals.Work Environment:Must be able to work in a non-smoke free environment.Must be able to work in a noisy environment.Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events.
