Line CookDepartment: Food ServicesClassification: StaffExemption Status: Non-exemptReports To: Refer to Org-ChartPay Grade: $15.75 per hourLocation: All GLC PropertiesPosition Summary — The Line Cook works directly with the Food Service Cashiers, prepares food items, maintains proper portions, and evaluates all food served, and food safety at all time, maintains clean and safe area at all time.Essential Functions — An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Maintains knowledge of all operations and department policies and procedures.Works on Line, stocks, and keeps area clean.Ensures proper food safety and sanitation standards/ensuring all health and safety compliance, including maintaining a safe working area.Replenishes food items and ensure product is stocked to appropriate par levels.Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.Set up work stations including prep table, service counter, hot well, steam table, and hot box.Ensures consistent excellent customer service and positive attitude toward guest, clients, and co-workers.Fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department by assisting co-workers, supervisor, or manager as requested.QualificationsHigh school diploma or G.E.D. or at least three (3) years cooking experience. Customer service experience required.Casino experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to multitask and work as part of the team.Ability to communicate clearly’ ability to read, comprehend and interpret written and oral instructions.Knowledge of proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points.Knowledge of kitchen equipment and food safety requirements.Other Requirements — Required to obtain and maintain a Seneca Cayuga tribal gaming license and a state issued I.D. All applicants must successfully pass a preemployment drug screening prior to beginning employment. Must be at least 18 years of age per gaming regulations. Required to obtain and maintain food safety training certification.Physical Requirements — Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; climb, bend, kneel and stand for extended periods. Must be able to work in hot, humid and loud environment for entire shifts. Must be able to work in areas that exceeds 100 degrees.Work Environment — Grand Lake Casino is a drug and alcohol-free workplace; Must be able to work in a casino environment which includes high levels of smoke, dust, noise, and bright flashing lights.Special Working Conditions — This position requires the flexibility to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
