Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an experienced engineering leader to drive vehicle hardware development across SET zones, focusing on systems integration, cost and weight reduction, and lifecycle efficiency. You will mentor teams, coordinate with Ford and Tier 1 suppliers, and guide design reviews to achieve milestones.

You'll lead cross-functional collaboration, apply Design Thinking and Systems Engineering fundamentals, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
5+ years in one or more vehicle systems such as liftgate, exterior trim, or rear lighting.
Experience in Design Thinking, Systems Engineering or Vehicle Engineering is preferred.
Knowledge of Systems Engineering Fundamentals and Design Thinking.
Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
Onsite collaboration required for four or more days per week; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with team members and external partners on packaging, weight, cost, labor, timing, and integration from a systems perspective.
Lead Systems Technical Design and Compatibility Reviews to optimize designs and ensure on-time milestones.
Drive SET Adherence to Systems Engineering Operating Principles.
Drive cross-functional issue resolution with program, finance, quality, and suppliers.
