Durham County Council is seeking Sessional Learning Delivery Assistants to support tutors and learners with additional needs. The role involves in-class support, online sessions, and 1-1 study coaching, with guidance from the ALS Co-ordinator and SEND Programme Lead.
Opportunities exist to work across Durham County, including East of the county. Applicants should have Level 3 qualification in Specialist Support in Teaching and Learning or CACHE Teaching Assistant, plus Level 2 English and maths.

We are looking to recruit Sessional Learning Delivery Assistants to join our team.
Under the direction of your line manager, you will assist tutors in supporting the additional needs of learners requiring help to overcome any barriers to learning.
The role will consist of mainly in‑class support, though supporting learners online in live sessions and some 1‑1 study coaching outside of class time – directed by the tutor, may also be involved. You will contribute towards the delivery of a high‑quality learning and skills experience through collaborative working and be guided by the Additional Learning Support Co‑ordinator and the SEND Programme Lead. We have a particular need in this recruitment to find employees to work in the East of the county.

Ideally, you will have experience of working with 14yrs+ learners – knowledge of ALS/ SEND/LLDD / SEMH would be advantageous.
Required qualifications: Level 3 qualification in Specialist Support in Teaching and Learning / CACHE Teaching Assistant / or equivalent (including teaching qualifications); must have Level 2 in English and maths Functional Skills or equivalent qualifications e.g. GCSEs.
