The role requires healthcare/long-term care leadership, ServSafe certification, and strong knowledge of food safety and therapeutic diets; collaboration with the Registered Dietitian, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary team is essential for resident nutrition.

Qualifications

• Previous leadership experience in healthcare, long term care or food service.
• Must be ServSafe Certified.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and therapeutic diets.
• Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills.
• CDM is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the dietary department, including food production, meal service, sanitation, and staffing.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including CMS, state health department, and food safety standards.
• Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team to support residents' nutritional needs.
• Develop and maintain menus that meet therapeutic diet requirements and resident preferences.
• Manage department budgets, food purchasing, inventory, and cost controls.
• Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate dietary staff.
• Monitor food quality, resident satisfaction, and meal service performance.
• Maintain accurate records related to food safety, sanitation, staffing, and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
