Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer in Buffalo, NY, to join the Servo Valve team. You’ll work as a trusted technical partner, solving complex problems across hydraulics, controls, electronics, and mechanical systems, with frequent customer interaction and on-site support.

You will collaborate with a seasoned team to deliver applications engineering excellence, travel about 20–25% domestically, and grow deep expertise in Moog’s servo valve technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Five (5) or more years of engineering experience in a technical, customer-facing role.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or electromechanical systems.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and ability to independently solve technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource for customers using Moog servo valve solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve system-level issues involving hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Recommend products and solutions that align with customer performance objectives and application requirements.
• Support customers with troubleshooting, system optimization, product selection, and application guidance.
• Conduct on-site assessments, system verification, and occasional valve tuning activities.
• Translate customer needs into technical requirements that support proposals and business opportunities.
• Deliver technical training to customers and internal teams.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and global product teams to ensure exceptional customer support.
• Build long-term customer relationships by serving as a trusted technical advisor.
