ABC Supply Co. Inc. in Beloit, WI, seeks a senior IT Operations leader to own the CMDB roadmap, governance, and data quality aligned to the ServiceNow CSDM. You will drive discovery, asset management, and data integrations across on‑prem and cloud resources to enable accurate ITSM decisions.

The role collaborates with Enterprise Architecture and IT teams, ensuring data ownership, compliance, and continuous improvement of configuration data and related dashboards and KPIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience with ServiceNow ITOM/ITAM including CMDB and Discovery.
• ITIL certification or equivalent experience is a plus.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills; ability to manage stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise CMDB roadmap, data model, and relationship standards aligned to ServiceNow CSDM.
• Lead CMDB and Asset Management with Discovery and Service Mapping for on‑prem and cloud resources.
• Define essential vs. optional CMDB data; enforce disciplined modeling to prevent data sprawl.
• Establish CMDB governance, ownership models, lifecycle controls, and audit readiness.
• Create and monitor CMDB health reports, dashboards, and KPIs; drive data ownership across teams.
• Develop, document, and maintain CMDB governance processes and policies.
• Continuously improve configuration management processes and data quality.

Summary

In this senior role within IT Operations, you will lead the governance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and currency aligned to the Common Service Data Model (CSDM). You will oversee ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB processes, establish standards and controls, and work closely with IT Operations teams, Enterprise Architecture, other IT departments, and business stakeholders across the enterprise to drive consistent adoption, data ownership, and trust in configuration data that supports effective ITSM and operational decision‑making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise CMDB roadmap, including data model design, class structure, and relationship standards aligned to ServiceNow CSDM.
• Develop the CMDB solutions that represent real operational and business dependencies, not just discovered infrastructure; ensure Operational Sustainability.
• Define what CMDB data is essential vs. optional, enforcing disciplined modeling to prevent CI sprawl and low‑value data collection.
• Lead and manage the Asset and Configuration Management responsibilities, design, deploy, and manage CMDB data management tools including Discovery and Service Mapping solutions for both on-premises and cloud resources.
• Establish and enforce CMDB governance, including ownership models, certification standards, lifecycle controls, and audit readiness. Implement processes, procedures and policies to ensure the CMDB Correct, Complete and Current (3 C’s)
• Define, create, and monitor CMDB health reports, dashboards, and other reports.
• Define and monitor CMDB health KPIs (completeness, correctness, compliance, and currency) and hold stakeholders accountable.
• Serve as the escalation point involving potential troubleshooting and problem resolution assistance.
• Design and manage CMDB and Asset data integrations with other data sources using import sets, transform maps, API integrations, and the Identification and Reconciliation Engine.
• Develop, document, implement, and maintain CMDB governance processes, procedures, and policies.
• Continually drive improvement in the configuration management process.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, business administration, or a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience with ServiceNow’s ITOM and ITAM solutions, including CMDB, Discovery and Asset Management capabilities, as well as working knowledge of ITIL Infrastructure and application onboarding and offboarding processes and how the CMDB can be integrated in those processes.
• Experience working with fast‑paced, high‑growth organizations preferred.
• ITIL certification, PMP, Agile Certification, or equivalent experience will be a plus.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Considerable experience with relationship management and interpersonal business development.
• General understanding of all aspects of infrastructure devices (i.e., server, network device, network protocols, application technologies, operating systems basics)
• Understanding hardware and software asset management practices and how those processes integrate and synchronize with the CMDB.
