Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a Platform Expert for a senior engineering role in Chicago. You will lead architecture, performance optimization, and cross-team alignment across ITSM/ITOM and enterprise workflows.

Join a high-impact team focused on reliability, scalability, and innovation, expanding platform capabilities, implementing real-time monitoring, and guiding stakeholders on scalable infrastructure best practices. Experience with JavaScript/Java, SQL tuning, and Splunk is valued.

Qualifications

8+ years in enterprise IT with direct, hands-on experience as a ServiceNow platform engineer or developer, including architecture, custom development, and platform integration.
Deep expertise in ServiceNow platform internals, performance tuning, and module level customization across ITSM, ITOM, or other enterprise workflows.
Experience with client and server-side JavaScript and Java (or equivalent).
Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle / MySQL / PostgreSQL) and SQL performance.
Experience with dynamic HTML components (AJAX, JavaScript, DOM, CSS, XML/HTML).
Experience reading/analyzing application logs; Splunk a plus.
Experience scripting: JavaScript, Python, Perl, Unix Shell, Windows Shell.
Experience administering Linux/Unix or Windows Server.
