Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy ServiceNow solutions.
  • Configure and extend out-of-the-box ServiceNow products where appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot complex platform issues and provide support for internal users/stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain platform components including scripts, reusable logic, and automation patterns.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and external systems (APIs, data imports/exports, scheduled jobs).
  • Support QA efforts: unit testing, UAT, and defect remediation.
  • Document technical designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors on complex engagements and support cases.
  • Improve development processes, coding standards, and platform best practices.
  • Manage multiple priorities and keep stakeholders informed of progress.

Job Description:ServiceNow Development Engineer
Position Type: 12 Month Contract
Compensation: $75-80/hr
Location: On-Site, Salt Lake City

Job Profile Summary
The Associate ServiceNow Engineer designs, builds, tests, and deploys solutions on the ServiceNow platform. This role works with internal customers to gather requirements, develops custom functionality and integrations, supports platform troubleshooting, and produces clear technical documentation. The engineer collaborates with stakeholders and vendors, contributes to development standards, and helps the team deliver quality solutions on schedule.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy custom ServiceNow solutions.
  • Configure and extend out-of-the-box ServiceNow products where appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot complex platform issues and provide support for internal users/stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain platform components including scripts, reusable logic, and automation patterns.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and external systems (APIs, data imports/exports, scheduled jobs).
  • Support quality assurance efforts: unit testing, peer review participation, UAT support, and defect remediation.
  • Document technical designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors on complex engagements and support cases.
  • Participate in improving development processes, coding standards, and platform best practices.
  • Manage multiple priorities, elevate risks early, and keep stakeholders informed of progress and blockers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience with JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting patterns (client-side and server-side).
  • Familiarity with Script Includes and reusable component design.
  • Ability to build and use GlideAjax (as required by the environment).
  • Experience with inbound email actions and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with data sources and scheduled imports/exports.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems and services (REST/SOAP/API concepts).
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning mindset.
  • Strong documentation habits and clear communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in Agile teams and provide guidance to less experienced peers.

Qualifications
Minimum

  • ServiceNow CSAorequivalent ServiceNow platform development experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT (or relatedorequivalent experience).
  • 1+ year of ServiceNow development experience with a demonstrable track record delivering platform enhancements.

Preferred

  • HTML/CSS; Angular; Bootstrap (as relevant to ServiceNow UI needs).
  • Agile/Scrum development experience; Jira.
  • SQL and experience with common database concepts.
  • Identity/access concepts (e.g., SSO/IdM) and related integrations.
  • Experience with enterprise integration patterns and external system connectivity.
