Job summary

United Ag & Turf NE is seeking a Service Writer to support the Service Department with customer service needs, manage work orders, and assist in pre-delivery and reconditioning of equipment. This role involves shop operations, field service, and vehicle-related tasks.

The position emphasizes strong communication, organization, and a commitment to teamwork, with opportunities for growth and advancement within a leading John Deere dealership network across the Northeast.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Office and internet-based tools.
• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Excellent organization and multitasking capabilities.

• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Advise customers on technical problems and schedule service needs.
• Assist in quotes for repair work and discuss requirements with the Service Manager.
• Plan shop assignments, field service work, and truck requirements for delivery.
• Process warranty claims.
• Establish or adjust work procedures to meet schedules and deadlines.
• Open/close work orders to ensure timely closure per company goals.
• Supervise shop activities when the Service Manager is away.
• Pursue available training to grow knowledge and skills.
• Maintain professional relationships with peers and customers to ensure excellent service.
