Ascendance Truck Centers in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a motivated, full-time Service Writer to join our fast-paced service department. You will direct service personnel, coordinate work flow, and communicate with customers to ensure accurate repair orders and timely updates.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of relevant experience, strong communication and customer service skills, and the ability to read work orders and specifications.

• Ability to develop written estimates and quote bids and schedule jobs.
• Ability to read instructions, work orders, and specifications.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to operate personal computer and business applications.

Responsibilities

• Receipt and flow of all incoming work; communicate with customers and internal departments.
• Greet customers and obtain vehicle information for proper repairs; contact customer and invoice.
• Write up customers’ vehicle issues and concerns clearly.
• Obtain customer signature and provide copy of repair order.
• Understand warranty guidelines and approval processes during write up and repair.
• Establish payment methods and PO requirements at write up.
• Monitor progress of repairs and update customers with status changes.
• Ensure vehicles are parked securely and keys stored properly.
• Explain completed work and charges to the customer.
