Job summary

Transwest, Inc. in Frederick, CO is seeking a Service Writer to greet customers, listen to vehicle concerns, and determine required maintenance and repair work.

You will prepare service orders, present quotes, and coordinate with the Foreman to ensure timely repairs while keeping customers informed. The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and attention to detail, with eligibility for full benefits. Shift options include first and second.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple customers and repairs.
• Detail oriented with strong follow-through.
• A valid driver's license and good standing MVR.
• Knowledge of diesel/truck systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Listen to customer description of problems or service needed.

• Upsell and promotions for additional equipment and services.
• Obtain authorization and signatures for repairs.
• Communicate with customer and Foreman during repairs.
• Prepare and invoice Repair Order (RO).
• Contact customer for pickup or delivery.
• Ensure secured payment prior to releasing serviced vehicles.
• Keep Uptime Pro updated as needed.
• Answer service calls.

# Service WriterFull-TimeFrederick, COApply Now## DescriptionThe Service Writer is responsible for meeting with customers, listening to their concerns about their vehicle, suggesting repair and maintenance services, selling new accessories or replacement parts as well as keeping the customer informed of the repair services progress.**We offer a full benefits package for eligible employees including:*** Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance* Life (Voluntary and Employer Paid) and Disability Insurance* 401(K) with company match beginning with your first contribution.* HSA and/or FSA, as applicable* Paid Time Off, Sick Time, and Company Paid Holidays* Employee Car Discount Program**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Listen to the customer description of the problems or service needed.* Determine the type of service required and prepare a service order.* Engage in upsells and promotions for additional equipment and services.* Obtain customer authorization and signatures for all repairs.* Present the repair order to Foreman for dispatch.* Prepare and present the customer with quotes for all repairs.* Communicate with the customer and Foreman during repairs.* Work with the Foreman to ensure the repair is completed.* Prepare and invoice Repair Order (RO).* Contact the customer for pick up or delivery.* Ensure that Secured Payment is made prior to releasing serviced vehicles.* Keep Uptime Pro updated as needed (Freightliner Elite Support locations).* Answer service calls.* Additional duties as assigned.**WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:*** Required to perform work inside and outside, in all-weather situations, at the shop division location.* Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending, or stooping for prolonged periods of time.* Manual dexterity, fine manipulation, and the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 80 lbs.* Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery.* Normal range of hearing and vision.**REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:*** High School diploma or equivalent.* Valid driver's license.* Good standing MVR.* Ability to obtain a CDL within 90 days of employment (diesel service department).* Ability to multi-task.* Detail oriented.* Previous experience as a service writer or advisor required.* Knowledge of diesel engines, gas engines, drive train and suspension is a plus.* Heavy and medium duty truck industry experience is a plus.* Excellent verbal and communication skills.* Ability to work any shift, including nights.* Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.**JOB DETAILS:*** Type: Hourly - M-F 7-11pm and Saturdays 9-6.
