Job summary

Castongia Tractor is seeking a Service Department Supervisor to assist the service manager in maintaining reports and ensuring timely operation within the dealership.

You will coordinate technicians, inspect repaired machines, and keep customers informed of progress and costs while promoting loyalty and efficient service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years work related experience.
• Supervisory or management experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively one on one or before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to negotiate customer complaints to a satisfactory resolution.
• Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Computer skills
• Strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Assist in answering service calls and assign jobs to technicians.
• Coordinate work areas based on technician skill and supervisor guidance.
• Inspect machines after repairs to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist technicians with diagnostics and DTAC case creation.
• Prepare work orders and keep the schedule updated.
• Maintain productivity and keep shop organized and clean.
• Ensure service vehicles are maintained and materials are stocked.
• Provide estimates to customers for repairs and keep them informed of costs.
• Communicate with customers to authorize additional repairs.
• Meet daily with the service manager to review performance and issues.

Purpose

Assist the service manager in maintaining accurate and on-time reports and records relative to the service department’s operation within the dealership.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Answering phone calls for service.
• Assign jobs and work areas to techs according to their skill, knowledge and level of expertise, under the direction of Service Manager.
• Inspect customer machines after repairs have been performed to assure that customer satisfaction is maintained when there machine is returned to them.
• Assist technicians in machine diagnostics as needed.
• Assist technicians in DTAC case creation.
• Write up work order requisitions and open work orders as needed.
• Keep techs productive and working.
• Assure that techs are keeping shop cleaned and organized.
• Make sure all company service vehicles are maintained.
• Assist in keeping schedule board updated daily.
• Maintain service counter schedule pad daily and complete before next day’s business.
• Issue purchase orders for outside supplies and repairs, submit bills to service mgr for processing.
• Maintain and monitor special tool inventory.
• Provide estimates to customers for repairs when requested.
• Keep customers informed of status of machine repairs and costs.
• Contact customers for authorization of additional repairs.
• Work with service manager in all aspects of the service department in fulfilling the responsibilities of the service manager.
• Promotes loyalty and customer goodwill and protects dealership and service department image.
• Advise service manager of all customer complaints.
• Meet with service manager daily to review department performance and personnel matters.
• Perform other duties and functions as directed by Service Manager in line with objectives of the dealership.
• Duties as assigned by management.
