Job summary

Patterson seeks a Service Technician Vet to deliver post-sale services at customer sites, including setup, maintenance, and repair of veterinary equipment to ensure proper function.

You will perform maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and train users on new products, while building strong customer relationships and complying with safety and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of relevant service/maintenance experience preferred.
  • SAP experience and knowledge of x-ray equipment are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer service calls; diagnose, repair, and install core veterinary equipment.
  • Inspect, test, and ensure proper operation per guidelines; perform preventive maintenance.
  • Advise customers on configurations and provide user training post-installation.
  • Maintain records (service orders, inventory, time sheets) and ensure compliance with regulations.

This role performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on installed products, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving malfunctions. This role is also accountable to ensure customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations that may favorably impact performance and providing user training on new products.Essential FunctionsIndependently respond to assigned customer service calls; diagnose problems and safely remove, modify, repair, and install all core veterinary equipment with minimal supervisionLearn and follow manufacturer guidelines on the operation, repair, maintenance and installation of equipmentInspect pre-installed products for any defects or damages, as well as conducting final post-installation inspections for proper operation or additional damage; ensure all manufacturer, Federal, and State regulations are metMaintain strong and supportive customer relationships by providing technical support after initial installation of Equipment, PC software, and hardware and ensuring that service commitments are met within standard response timeVerify specific manufacturer and Patterson guidelines, OSHA and other applicable laws and regulations are followedMaintain all required records including (including service orders, confirmations, inventory, expense reports, time sheet, and equipment related items) timely and accuratelyComply with Company and department policies and standards; performs other duties as assignedAdditional ResponsibilitiesEstablish and maintain productive, mutually beneficial relationships with customers, vendors and colleaguesInventory Management: Determine parts, supplies or tools needed to complete service requests; manages vehicle inventory through regular restocking and regular inventory auditsPersonal/Vehicle Safety: Maintain a quality driving record; proper vehicle maintenance should be scheduled regularly to ensure we maintain a safe fleet on the roadEnsures proper use and maintenance of all company provided assets, including but not limited to vehicle, phone, computer, parts, equipment, tools and uniformsMinimum RequirementsHigh School Diploma or Equivalent2 years of relevant work experienceMechanical/Carpentry/Plumbing/Heating/Electrical/Electronic related experiencePreferred RequirementsTrade school training in carpentry/plumbing/heating/electrical/electronic is highly desirablePrevious experience servicing and installing x-ray equipmentSAP experienceSkills and AbilitiesAbility to thrive in an independent role with excellent organizational and problem-solving skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills; listens attentively and asks questions when necessary.
