Job summary

Kenworth Sales Company in Las Vegas, NV seeks a Service Technician to perform high-quality repairs on customer equipment and recommend further services as needed. Swing shift is 1:30pm–10:00pm, with a salary range of $25–$45 per hour based on experience.

Qualified candidates will have 2–3 years in medium/heavy truck repair, a valid driver’s license, and strong mechanical, organizational, and communication skills. DOT-regulated, drug-free workplace with pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Receive repair order assignments and follow Shop Foreman instructions.
• Perform repairs thoroughly and efficiently while maintaining workmanship standards.
• Advise Shop Foreman of recommended changes in services.
• Determine further repairs and communicate recommendations to the Shop Foreman.
• Maintain records of work performed and time clocked on jobs.
• Attend required training sessions.
• Possibly perform additional repairs if needed.

Swing shift scheduled hours are 1:30pm - 10:00pm

Salary Minimum and Maximum: $25-$45 an hour depending on experience

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the Service Technician is to perform superior quality repairs to customer equipment and make recommendations for further services as determined by the Technician during service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receives repair order assignments from Shop Foreman
• Follows instructions and executes work assignments in repair order thoroughly and efficiently.
• Maintains superior standard of workmanship in all services performed.
• Advises Shop Foreman of any recommended changes in services ordered by the customer
• Determines if any further repairs or servicing should be recommended to the customer, and communicates such recommendations to the Shop Foreman
• Maintains a level of training and experience with specialized equipment, machinery, and servicing techniques necessary for superior servicing of the customer’s equipment
• Attends training sessions as required by the Service Manager
• Performs additional repairs as required when any piece of equipment is returned by the customer because of the Technician’s faulty workmanship
• Maintains accurate work order records of work performed and time clocked on jobs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance. Outstanding mechanical aptitude and skills necessary to produce top results. Driver’s license and clean driving record. Personal motivation and self-reliance. Manual dexterity. Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely. Excellent organization and communication skills. High school diploma or the equivalent. Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information

WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a physically demanding position. Will stand six to eight hours per shift. Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel. Will lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Will use hand and power tools, hoist and test equipment. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
