Job summary

Kenworth Sales Co. in Elko, NV seeks a Service Technician to perform high-quality repairs on customer equipment and recommend additional services based on on-site diagnostics.

The role requires 2-3 years handling medium/heavy trucks, a valid driver's license, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read and follow English instructions. You will work with a team in a physically demanding shop environment and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in medium/heavy truck repair.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Receives repair order assignments from Shop Foreman.
• Executes work assignments thoroughly and efficiently.
• Maintains a high standard of workmanship.
• Advises Shop Foreman on recommended changes in services.
• Determines if further repairs should be recommended and communicates them.
• Maintains training and experience with equipment and servicing techniques.
• Attends training sessions as required by the Service Manager.
• Performs additional repairs if issues arise from faulty workmanship.
• Keeps accurate work order records and time entries.

Salary Minimum and Maximum: $25-$35 Depending on experience!

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the Service Technician is to perform superior quality repairs to customer equipment and make recommendations for further services as determined by the Technician during service.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Receives repair order assignments from Shop Foreman
• Follows instructions and executes work assignments in repair order thoroughly and efficiently.
• Maintains superior standard of workmanship in all services performed.
• Advises Shop Foreman of any recommended changes in services ordered by the customer
• Determines if any further repairs or servicing should be recommended to the customer, and communicates such recommendations to the Shop Foreman
• Maintains a level of training and experience with specialized equipment, machinery, and servicing techniques necessary for superior servicing of the customer’s equipment
• Attends training sessions as required by the Service Manager
• Performs additional repairs as required when any piece of equipment is returned by the customer because of the Technician’s faulty workmanship
• Maintains accurate work order records of work performed and time clocked on jobs.

Qualifications

Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance. Outstanding mechanical aptitude and skills necessary to produce top results. Driver’s license and clean driving record. Personal motivation and self-reliance. Manual dexterity. Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely. Excellent organization and communication skills. High school diploma or the equivalent. Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information

Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding position. Will stand six to eight hours per shift. Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel. Will lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Will use hand and power tools, hoist and test equipment. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
