Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is looking for a tire service technician to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across passenger cars and trucks. You will diagnose mechanical issues on trucks and trailers, conduct routine maintenance, and respond to roadside calls when needed.

Strong safety awareness and the ability to lift up to 250 lbs are essential. The role requires a valid driver's license, willingness to work flexible hours, and the ability to operate TPMS systems while maintaining high service

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Overtime may be required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred (not required).
• Ability to lift/move tires weighing 30-250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.
• Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires as needed across various vehicle types.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on trucks and trailers.
• Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.
• Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck when needed.
• Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with traffic regulations.
• Use and maintain TPMS.
• Assist with inventory loading/unloading and counts.
• Participate in ongoing training and safety protocols.

Job description

Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across various vehicle types: passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including:

Commercial Tires

HVAC systems

Brakes

PM Inspections

Drivetrain

Electrical Systems

Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.

Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations.

Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck (F-350), when needed.

Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).

Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.

Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education & Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

• Possible overtime may be required.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.

Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred (not required).

Ability to lift/move tires weighing between 30-250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.

Ability to perform physically demanding work involving repetitive motion, forceful exertion, and working in awkward postures or under vibration.
