Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking a tire technician to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires on various vehicles, from passenger cars to large trucks. You will diagnose mechanical issues on semi-trucks, perform PM inspections, and help with fleet maintenance.

You may operate a service truck for roadside calls, maintain TPMS, and participate in training while following safety protocols. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Overtime may be required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers (Brakes, HVAC, Electrical, Drivetrain).
• Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.
• Operate service truck and respond to roadside service calls.
• Use and maintain TPMS systems and assist with inventory loading/unloading.

Job description

Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across various vehicle types: passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including:

Commercial Tires

HVAC systems

Brakes

PM Inspections

Drivetrain

Electrical Systems

Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.

Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations.

Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck (F-350), when needed.

Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).

Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.

Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education & Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

• Possible overtime may be required.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.

Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred (not required).

Ability to lift/move tires weighing between 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.

Ability to perform physically demanding work involving repetitive motion, forceful exertion, and working in awkward postures or under vibration.

• Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Overtime maybe required.
