Job description

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Shop Supervisor, the incumbent repairs, services, and maintains engine-driven generators and electric welding machines, ensuring a safe working environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Replaces defective parts and completes preventative maintenance.
• Orders parts as required to complete repairs.
• Inspects returned equipment for proper operation and/or damage by the customer.
• Ensures a clean and organized work environment at all times.
• Prepares and completes paperwork for all machine repairs.
• Occasionally services equipment and customers off-site.
• Maintains communication with all branch personnel.
• Occasionally advises customers regarding the best equipment for their projects.
• Performs troubleshooting of machines, calibrations on-site and off-site.
• Possesses knowledge of computers, welding processes, equipment setup, welding gases, and welding wires.
• Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
